Marvin Windows and Doors Awarded with 2014 American Business Ethics Award

The Foundation for Financial Service Professionals awarded Marvin Windows and Doors the 2014 American Business Ethics Award (ABEA) last Tuesday in Warroad, Minnesota. Marvin was chosen as the winner in the large company category for exemplifying high standards of ethical conduct in the workplace, the marketplace and the community.

Chairman and CEO of The Marvin Companies, John W. "Jake" Marvin, said, "It is an honor to receive this award and to be recognized on a national level for our commitment to doing the right thing for our employees, communities and customers.

Richard M. Weber, chair of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, expressed his admiration for Marvin and said, "this exceptional company provides clear evidence that ethical business practices are alive and well in corporate America."

The ABEA awards were created by the Foundation for Financial Service Professionals in 1994 and honored businesses with ethical everyday business practices. In order to be eligible, businesses must be nominated, provide comprehensive information about their ethics plan, and examples of how to implement their plan of action.  The nominees are judged by a panel of experts drawn from business, academic, consulting and ethics communities. The ABEA reviews four areas: executive commitment, ongoing ethics programming, demonstrated ethical business practices; and commitment to stakeholders, employees, customers and the community. Previous winners include Starbucks and General Mills.
